HABITARE’S ECODESIGN EXHIBITION HELD
AT LA TRIENNALE DI MILANO 8 – 13 APRIL 2014

The international EcoDesign exhibition has been organized six times in the past six years during Habitare design fair in Helsinki. After several successful years aimed at promoting ecologically sustainable design in Finland, the exhibition set a new course to Milan and it was shown at La Triennale di Milano during its annual Design week. Over 50 works selected from the previous EcoDesign editions, in addition to ten pieces made of UPM Grada, a new thermo-formable wood material and ecological seats designed by students of Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture.

EcoDesign exhibition has been organized at the Messukeskus, the Expo and Convention Centre in Helsinki, since 2009. The collection, which presented in Milan in April, consisted of the

very best works from the previous editions. On the average 5-10 pieces selected from each annual theme with assistance of curators who were supervising the exhibitions. The exhibition in Milan aroused a lot of interest among visitors, and the feedback was amazing. We are grateful for the possibility to arrange the EcoDesign exhibition in such prestigious place. There were almost 103.000 visitors during the Design Week.

Partners in cooperation were Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, UPM Plywood, Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Huonekalusäätiö, WWF Finland, Motiva and Messukeskus. Images of the La Triennale exhibition are available here.
